Adoption Process
“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”
― Karen Davison
Our hope is that all rescue animals will find a good home, and that is why there are a few policies and procedures in place to make sure that a prospective home is a good one.
How to Adopt:
-
Complete the Adoption Application Form and email to manager@midrandspca.co.za.
-
Click here or here to see the wonderful animals we have up for adoption.
-
Make an appointment to walk through our kennels or If you’re reluctant to do so because it’s upsetting for you, we will arrange for you to meet a couple of animals (based on the information you’ve supplied on your adoption form) in the privacy of one of our exercise runs. This will give you time to get to know each animal and help you make your selection. Our Office can be reached on 011 265 9935.
What Happens Next:
Once you've decided which dog or cat you’d like to adopt, one of our pre-placement officers will visit your home. This ensures that your property’s suitable for the animal concerned. We take into account:
-
Other animals in the family
-
Children’s ages
-
Level of family's activity (how often will the dog be exercised)
-
How long the dog, especially a puppy, will be left alone.
-
Size of property
-
Level of family's activity (how often will the dog be exercised)
Please note that the adoption fee is R950. An updated adoption form will be available shortly, but in the meantime the existing one can still be used.
